The comparison

Pick a vendor. We’ll go line by line.

UniFi, Omada, MikroTik, Aruba, Meraki — respectable network gear, all of it. The comparison isn’t the radio. It’s the stack a venue needs around the radio: the portal, the marketing, the analytics, and the licensing.

Credit where due

They’re good. At a different job.

We’d rather you trust the whole page than win on spin. Every vendor here is genuinely good at what it was built for — which isn’t the guest experience.

UniFi

Superb value if you have an IT person and love tinkering. The ecosystem is huge and the hardware is honest.

But: the guest portal is an afterthought, and the guest-data story ends at a CSV.

Omada

The budget-sensible pick. Solid access points, fair pricing, working vouchers.

But: guest features stop at the voucher. Marketing and analytics live in other tools.

MikroTik

The most capable hardware per dollar in networking, full stop. It can be configured to do nearly anything.

But: RouterOS is a language. A venue shouldn’t need to speak it.

Aruba

Enterprise-grade radios, serious support SLAs, and the compliance checkboxes big IT departments need.

But: it’s priced and specced for enterprises with IT teams — not for a 42-room hotel.

Meraki

The slickest cloud dashboard in networking, and genuinely excellent zero-touch deployment at scale.

But: everything is a license — and the hardware stops working when it lapses.

HaloWiFi

We don’t sell network gear. We sell the guest experience — portal, marketing, analytics — with the network built underneath it.

The trade: if you want raw firewall knobs and BGP, buy MikroTik. If you want guests connected and coming back, buy this.
